An Unforgettable Experience
The Queenz Of Cannabiz Sunday Sesh was an unforgettable experience—a whole vibe dedicated to celebrating powerful women in business who are blazing new trails! Curated by @queenofpublicrelations hosted at @bookstoregallery_atl on Edgewood, this event was nothing short of legendary. With an incredible lineup of vendors, artists, media, and guest speakers, the energy was electric, inspiring, and filled with wisdom.

The event featured two powerful panels—a Cannabis Panel followed by a Music Panel—both designed to educate, uplift, and inspire.

Insightful Discussions & Thought-Provoking Conversations
ThThe panels delivered deep and necessary conversations about the cannabis industry, music, media, and the role of women in these spaces. Some key takeaways included:
- Women in the Rap Game: A conversation on conscious female artists, their influence, and their challenges.
- Feminine Power: Examining how men embrace sexuality yet condemn femininity.
- Men Creating Safe Spaces for Women: Encouraging male allies to use their platforms to advocate for and protect women.
- Integrity in the Industry: Emphasizing the importance of staying true to one’s values despite challenges.
- Women as the Backbone: A discussion on how women are often the most needed yet the least protected and respected.
- Overcoming Adversity: A panelist shared how media became her platform for reclaiming her voice after surviving sexual trauma.
- The Black Female Image in Media: Addressing how labels and the industry often exploit Black femininity.
- Breaking Barriers in Business: A female entrepreneur revealed how she ran Hype Magazine for 18 years while pretending to be a man for credibility.
- Independence vs. Major Labels: Artists were encouraged to consider the power of independent labels rather than chasing major deals.
- The Power of Male Allies: Many women emphasized the value of having a supportive man in their corner, highlighting how collaboration fosters success. In the same breath a male radio host spoke on the confidence a female host bestowed upon him from mere belief in his career.
- Respect for Podcast Pioneers: Seasoned entrepreneurs spoke on the importance of recognizing and respecting the original podcasters who paved the way.
- Atlanta’s Unique Culture: Acknowledging how Atlanta’s music and business scene thrives on mutual support and community engagement.
The panel concluded with a powerful spoken word piece by Kamal Speaks on cancel culture, urging artists to remain authentic in an industry that often tries to control their narratives. The piece resonated so deeply that I was compelled to purchase the poet’s book.
