Child drowns in pond near Daytona Beach home

Daytona Beach, FL – A 2-year-old boy is dead after a neighbor pulled his body from a pond near his Daytona Beach home.

Officials with the Daytona Beach Police Department say it happened around 1pm Monday along the 300 block of Aleatha Drive, close to the intersection of South Nova Road and Bellevue Avenue.

Paramedics were initially called out to the home on 355 Aleatha Drive at 12:50pm after receiving a call saying the toddler somehow got out of his home and got into the pond at the rear of the house, according to D.B.P.D. Lieutenant Jimmie Flynt.

“A neighbor jumped into the pond to pull the kid out,” Flynt added. “They started C.P.R.”

The child – identified as Clayton Bland – was taken to Halifax Medical Center and pronounced dead around 40 minutes after getting the call for help, according to Flynt.

Investigators from D.B.P.D. are trying to piece together exactly what happened.

“I can’t say [at this point] if charges will be filed or not,” Flynt said.

According to police, the child’s mother – 30-year-old Talisa Brown – was watching him as his grandmother – Lillian Brown – left the home to run some errands.

Flynt said the grandmother had custody of both the children inside the home.

“When the grandmother came back home, she noticed that the 2-year-old was missing,” Flynt stated.

It was then, according to police, when the other child in the home – Clayton’s 4-year-old brother –spotted Clayton in the pond.

“It appeared the [kids] wandered outside without being missed,” Flynt added.

Rhonda Moore – the neighbor who jumped into the pond – told police she jumped in the water after hearing screaming coming from the rear of her home.

“The child’s mother [told the neighbor] that her son was in the water and she could not swim,” Flynt said.

The Department of Children & Families has been notified and will be investigating.

Dwayne Wade fathers child while on break with Gabrielle Union

The blogs were on point with this one. NBA star Dwyane Wade fathered a baby boy with a groupie while he was on hiatus from actress Gabrielle Union.

Wade recently spent time with his new baby boy, a source close to the couple tells ET.

According to ET, Wade, 31, and Union, 41, “have worked through the issue privately as a couple, and the Bring It On star was aware of the child before their engagement.” Wade, who proposed to Union 2 weeks ago, has known the mother of his youngest son “for many years.” Wade is now the father of 3 boys.

Welp, this means Wade has fulfilled God’s commandment to multiply and replenish the earth with his seed with multiple women.

From ET:

The long-time couple have been dating since 2009, are engaged to be married. Wade has never been a slouch when it comes to being a father and doesn’t plan on changing that. It’s good to see the couple work through this. Good luck Wade & Union
