Marcus Garvey was a Social Activist working toward social equality. He founded the UNIA (Universal Negro Improvement Association) which promoted African Americans resettling in Africa and starting their own nation. He led the largest mass movement in American history of African Descent. He was the 1st African American to organize masses of people in a political movement.
