The great city of Daytona Beach has spawned many great athletes such as Vince Carter, (NBA All-Star), Curtis Mitchell (Olympic Bronze Medalist), Eric Weems (NFL Pro-Bowler) and many more. Well be on the look out for our next rising star Robert “Bert” Brown.

The 5’10 DB graduated from Atlantic High School along with his twin brother Rob “Ant” Brown (who started at RB) and Curtis Mitchell (Who started at WR). After graduation the brothers landed football scholarships at Union College in Barbourville, KY where they played for the Bulldogs.
The brothers both earned serveral honors throughout their career with the college, including defensive and offensive Player of the Week.

Towards the end of the season Rob Brown suffered an injury that put him down for awhile and slowed down the process of further recruitment after graduation. Robert Brown ended up trying out for the CFL (Canadian Football League). After making it to the final cuts Bert was released so the team could make room for their Canadians players. So it was back to the drawing boards for the Daytona Beach twin.

Yet, Robert refused to give up. Robert and his twin brother worked out vigorously and kept up with their college highlight films. Robert recieved a call from the Cedar Rapid Titans a couple of months later and the rest is history!

During their last game, against Green Bay Blizards (the second game of the season) Robert Brown returned a kickoff for a touchdown and also picked a pass off for an interception.

That was at a home game. The Titans will clash with the Blizzards yet again, this time in an away game in which Robert is expected to be an “impact player” on defense and special teams.

We expect great things from the young man so be on a close watch. His twin brother Rob has healed from his injuries and is expected to be heading towards the IFL, as well. Congrats Brown twins you make our city proud.
