In the early 1800’s Sarah Baartman traveled from South Africa to Europe in plans to seek wealth. The natives weren’t used to seeing a woman with such stature; big buttocks, breast, lips, etc. So she was used as a circus act and displayed to the natives. She gained the name “La Vénus Hottentote”.
After she failed as a circus act she was introduced to prostitution. Due to over exposure, rape, and stress she died at the young age of 25. Bet you never “THOT” about that.

so i did a little research, this is very inacurate and pretty much full of shit. the KKK did not invent the term. in fact the KKK had not even been founded until almost 30 years after her death. the actual term was something like ‘Hottentote’ (in french). the name of this woman is Saartjie Baartman. she was an african woman with (to euroupeans) had an especially large rear end. so especialy large that she was forced to be an exhibit in museums, an attraction in a circus and a zoo. forced to strip naked for doctors and painters in Europre. eventually she was forced into prostitution and died at the young age of 25.
So the majority of this artice is not true. not only did the KKK not create the term but she died almost 30 before the cult was founded in 1865. Europeans found this woman Saartjie Baartman and were so facinated by her large rear end (and so ignorant to civil rights) that they stole her away and made an unjust mockery of her body. She was forced to be an attraction in a circus, a zoo, to strip naked for painters and scientists and eventually sold into prostitution. she died at the young age of 25 most likely unable to stand the abuse much longer. if more people read this article it will perpetuate the idea that black women are and always have been “THOTS”. Great article! But if you want facts to be considered credible, I would consider correcting grammatical errors before publishing further articles. The error I’m pointing out within this article published is as follows,
“The natives weren’t use to seeing a WOMEN with such stature”
1) “weren’t USE to seeing” / you are speaking in terms of pastense so the correct phrase to use would be, “weren’t USED to seeing”
2) Women = plural, speaking of multiple females. In this case, you are speaking of an individual which should just be “WOMAN”
One of the many reasons I stress using proper grammar is because we live in a time were people hardly read. And becuase of this, grammatical errors are slowly incorporating its self as proper grammar as it is usually overlooked and ignored. Therefore, the younger generation will look take it in as the correct terms of speaking or in this case writing. As a journalist or writer, I’m sure you can relate to this.

THOT was originally termed by Chicago Drill artist King Louie… I was working for Lawless Inc at the time, when Louie went to Cali… (the same trip that he got the veneers and shot the “PIDD” video) before he came back he was on Twitter, and started using the term THOT… no one knew what it was… this was Spring 2012… he would not reveal what the term THOT meant until that evening but everyone else in the MUBU knew what it meant…
As a matter of fact most of Drill lingo was created either by King Louie himself or someone in the MUBU Gang such as

and so on and so forth…

I assume the claim here is that ‘THOT’ derives from ‘Hottentote’ [sic]. This is clearly not the case, as ‘THOT’ is an English acronym, and ‘Hottentot’ is an old Dutch/Afrikaans word that refers to, what we call today, the Khoisan people (Baartman’s ethnicity).
